The NFPA recommends having your dryer vent inspected and cleaned at least once per year. Households that do many loads of laundry per week, use a gas dryer, or have longer or more complex vent routes may benefit from cleaning every six months. If you've never had it cleaned and you've lived in your home for more than a year, it's already overdue.
Most appointments take between 30 and 60 minutes depending on the length and routing of your vent line and how long it's been since the last cleaning. Longer duct runs or older flexible hosing can add time. Keith will give you an accurate estimate when you book so there are no surprises.
The most common warning signs are: clothes taking longer than one cycle to fully dry, the dryer or your laundry feeling unusually hot after a cycle, a burning or musty smell during operation, excessive lint around the dryer door or vent area, or it's simply been more than a year since your last cleaning. Any one of these is reason enough to schedule an inspection.
Just make sure the dryer is accessible and the laundry area has some clearance around it so Keith can work comfortably. Keith handles everything else: equipment, cleanup, all of it. There's nothing special you need to do or buy beforehand.
